Dr Wald is a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in the mental health of older adults. She gained dual accreditation in adult and older adult psychiatry from the
Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1998 and have been a Consultant Psychiatrist for Older Adults in Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust since 2003. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, she has had a wide range of experience in overseeing services including older adult in – patient wards, an NHS – funded continuing care home for people with mental illness and associated challenging behaviours, an older adult community mental health team and older adult liaison services at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington. She established the Westminster Memory Service in 2009 and the Kensington & Chelsea Memory Service in 2011 which have both repeatedly been nationally accredited with excellence by the Royal College of Psychiatrists and which were awarded The Royal College’s Older Adult Team of the Year in 2015. She has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of cognitive disorders and the psychiatric and behavioural symptoms which commonly accompany these conditions. Dr Wald also has extensive experience in the diagnosis, treatment and management of functional mental illnesses such mood disorders and psychosis as well as capacity assessments.
